First of all, I would like to wish to every and each one of you a Happy New Year and I hope you enjoyed your holidays with your family and loved ones and ate delicious foods.
One of my New Year's Resolutions is to build my own daily skin care routine for the morning and the evening. I was thinking the other day about how old I am now and I couldn't understand how time has flown by...seriously I still remember the day I turned 23 like it was yesterday and I feel like I suddenly jumped to 25. I know you might think 25 is young and indeed it is but I never actually had a skin care routine. Dermatologists say you should start using skin care from the age of 20 to prevent wrinkles from showing up early.
I always use a face moisturizer and I clean my face every morning with water but that is it. So to stick to my resolution and take care of my skin, I decided to create myself a morning skin-care routine as well as a nighttime skin-care routine. In this blog post I will be telling you about my morning skin-care routine.
How you treat your skin every single day is really important, and it can make a big difference in your overall look whether you treat it right; clean it, apply your moisturizer or whether you're lazy and sleep with your makeup on and not applying any moisturizer. I personally cannot sleep without taking my makeup off and cleansing my face.
Here are some steps I follow for my morning skin-care routine.
Step 1 Cleanser (Everyday)
This is the most essential step to have clear skin. You HAVE to wash your face first thing in the morning! To wash my face I use the LR RACINE 1689 Foaming Cleanser 150ml. I love this cleanser because as soon as you apply it, it foams and it makes my skin feel fresh and clean. I apply the foam to my face using either the palm of my hand or on my LR ZeitGard system face brush. I love using this brush whether I'm using it for cleansing or exfoliating because it makes me feel like I am at a Spa having a facial done.

Step 2 Exfoliant (2-3 times per week)
Exfoliating is essential in order to remove any excess dead skin cells but you shouldn't exfoliate more than 3 time per week as it can irritate your skin and you should see what suits your skin type most. I have combination skin, I am oily on the T- zone and normal to dry on the cheeks and I like to exfoliate twice per week. To exfoliate I love using the LR ZeitGard system face brush with Beauty Formulas Australian Tea Tree Blackhead Clearing Facial Scrub 150ml. This Facial scrub is very new to me, I have only used it twice and I can already see that it's really effective in removing dead skin cells as well as reducing my blackheads, it also leaves my face feeling fresh and revived.

Step 3 Serum (Everyday)
If you're like me and you want to follow a correct order of skin care routine, you should know that serum is applied before moisturizer. I like using a few pumps of the L'oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell renew Golden Serum 30ml. This serum is targeted for the ages above 50 but I don't mind. It gives me a radiant glow and it restores tired skin to make it look more radiant with a healthy looking glow. It also smells amazing!

Step 4 Moisturizer (with or without SPF Everyday)
Moisturizing is my favorite part of my skin-care routine. I love using the L'oreal Paris Revitalift filler renew re-plumping , anti-ageing day cream 50ml. I love everything about this cream from its smell to its texture and the way it makes my skin feel. It really does what it says. What I mostly love about it is that it contains concentrate hyaluronic acid, and everybody and their Mom's know that hyaluronic acid is one of the best ingredients to be added into a face cream because of its wonderful benefits. Hyaluronic acid locks in water, increases skin elasticity and has anti-inflammatory properties which aids in making your skin-tone even.

Step 5 Sunscreen (SPF Everyday)
If you use a moisturizer that already has SPF you can pretty much skip this step, but if you want extra sun protection then go for it!
I tend to neglect this step but this is the most important step in everyone's skin care routine whether you are a man or a woman, child or adult, you should never leave your house without applying SPF, even if it's winter. SPF protects you from the harmful UV rays of the sun that can cause early ageing signs such as hyper-pigmentation, sun spots, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and last but not the least skin cancer. I prefer using non-oily sunscreens that are quickly absorbed into the skin because I dislike the feeling of something sticky on my face. I have been trying out the Frezyderm Sunscreen with new velvet technology 50ml. I like it because it's creamy and has a thin consistency. They also make a tinted one for those of you who prefer a hint of color with their SPF.
For the winter time I use an SPF 30 while in Summer I use SPF 50.

Important note: Always remember to apply the above steps to your neck . You don't want your face looking young and your neck looking old and wrinkly.
This is my current 2017 Morning skin-care routine and I hope I get some of you inspired to create their own skin care routine using some of the products I have mentioned or other products. If you would like me to do a review of the products mentioned I would gladly do it.
Until next time,
